At just 18, from Bengaluru, India, I, Samriddhi Kori, have once again showcased the limitless potential of young innovators by securing the top spot at Codeavour 5.0 Nationals held at Alpine Convent School, New Delhi. This is my fourth consecutive victory in the world’s most esteemed AI, robotics, and coding competition for students.
I’ve become a source of inspiration for tech enthusiasts globally. This latest achievement displays my exceptional skill in coding and robotics and reflects my persistent quest for knowledge, steered by my mentors and consistently supported by my family. Through my innovative AI project, “Drone Acharya,” I aim to demonstrate how technology can tackle society’s most pressing challenges when blended with creativity and empathy.
My Journey so Far
My journey began with a deep curiosity about technology’s impact on society. By the age of 14, I was already delving into the basics of coding, inspired by everything around me and driven by a desire to make a tangible difference.
Year after year, I have not just participated in Codeavour but emerged as a champion, each project more innovative than the previous. This consistent success marks my growth as a coder and a thinker.
Before “Drone Acharya,” my project for Codeavour 2022 was “Sakhi,” a humanoid robot designed to assist Alzheimer’s patients and the visually impaired. This venture laid the foundation for my exploration into robotics, showcasing my dedication to leveraging technology for caregiving.
This year, I teamed up with Swara Bhavi for the new challenge. Participating in Codeavour was particularly difficult this time around as I was also preparing for my JEE exams. Despite the overwhelming pressure and the juggling act between my academic commitments and my passion for innovation, Swara and I emerged victorious, a testament to our hard work, determination, and the incredible support system we’ve had throughout this journey.
Drone Acharya: A Marvel of Modern Technology
Our robotics and AI project, “Drone Acharya” isn’t just a drone; it’s a multi-functional marvel capable of transforming industries. Our creation pushes the envelope of what drones can achieve, from agriculture to emergency response.
This project underscores my belief that technology should serve humanity. “Drone Acharya” showcases a harmonious blend of technical prowess and empathy by addressing real-world issues like firefighting and precision agriculture.
The Role of Mentorship
Behind my success lies the tireless support of my mentors and family. Their guidance has been the backbone of my journey, providing me with the resources and encouragement needed to explore new horizons.
My story is more than just my achievements; it’s a call to action for young minds around the globe to dive into the world of STEM. I embody the idea that age is no barrier to making a significant impact through technology.
My Mentor, Niladri Purkayastha Sir, has supported me in all out-of-the-box things. Our journey started from Codeavour 2020, and I have been training her from Codeavour 4.0. It was an awesome journey of late nights and brainstorming. There were many challenges, but we overcame them with fun and work.
My Future Plans
As I look towards the future, my ambitions stretch far beyond competing. I aim to refine “Drone Acharya” further, making it more accessible and impactful for various sectors, from healthcare to environmental conservation.
My message to young enthusiasts is straightforward: the innovation journey is filled with challenges, but with passion, persistence, and support, the possibilities are boundless. I encourage my peers to dream big, start small, and continue pushing the boundaries of what’s possible.
My win at Codeavour 5.0 National is not just a personal victory but a significant milestone for young innovators across the globe. My evolution from a curious teenager to a technology prodigy underscores that with the right blend of passion, perseverance, and support, there truly are no limits.
Looking ahead, I’m not just aiming to maintain the legacy I’ve built; I’m looking forward to the finals of Codeavour 5.0 International in Dubai. This presents not just another platform to showcase “Drone Acharya” but a step closer to realizing my vision for the project. As the finals approach, my focus is not just on winning but on how my work can serve as a source for innovation, inspiring others to believe in the transformative power of technology.
